Good exercise in pleasant warm water
Exercise helps to relieve or sometimes even prevent complaints. In addition, exercise has a positive effect on body weight, fat percentage, blood pressure and insulin sensitivity. For those who can move little, swimming or moving in the water is often ideal. Water makes you light. However, in many swimming pools the temperature is low. As a result, the elderly and people with disabilities cool down quickly, which results in less pleasure of swimming or exercising in the water. The water of the On Campus therapy pool is pleasantly warm, it is always 33 degrees Celsius. The water of our therapy pool also contains a limited amount of chlorine and by the addition of salt the upward pressure improves. This makes moving and swimming in the therapy pool easier and more pleasant.
Easily accessible for disabled
The therapy pool and the adjoining changing rooms are wheelchair accessible. Visitors do not have to climb stairs. The changing rooms are extra spacious for use by people with disabilities. The therapy pool can be entered through the ramp. And if you have a hard time walking, you can also go into the water with a stretcher or wheelchair. The therapy pool has a deep and a shallow end and is equipped with a movable floor and a hoist. Special chairs are available and showering on a stretcher is also possible. In addition, there is a passive and active elevator.
